Rosacea is a poorly understood long-term facial skin condition that can affect one in 10 men and women of all ages and often causes emotional distress. As well as facial flushing and redness, rosacea can lead to a burning and stinging sensation, permanent redness, spots and small blood vessels in the skin may become visible. In severe cases, the skin, usually on and around the nose, can thicken and enlarge.
